Former Palermo and Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena believes Paulo Dybala may have reservations over a move to Manchester United this summer. The Argentina international has been heavily tipped to sign for the Red Devils in a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku but he has yet to give the go-ahead for the proposed transfer.

“We are talking [with Manchester United] about another world football superpower. But for me, they are still not ready to win big in Europe as Juve may be. Hence his reservations. If the team in question had been Liverpool or Manchester City , in my opinion he would have had no doubts. United are more of a construction site at the moment, and for this reason I understand indecision – I too would be 50/50,” he said.
Dybala has been reported to demand wages of around £350,000-a-week and there are suggestions that the Red Devils would be willing to grant the package. Still, the Argentine is understood to be reluctant to take a 25 percent paycut, should United fail to qualify for the Champions League next season and that remains one of the stumbling blocks at the moment.
Elsewhere, there are claims of a dispute over the image rights for the Argentine and it remains to be seen whether United manage to sort everything out before the transfer deadline on Thursday. United have so far landed the signatures of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James. They are expected to announce the arrival of Harry Maguire from Leicester City shortly.
