Carlos Causes Trouble

Former Manchester city striker Carlos Tevez has sensationally claimed that he would rather go to the Disney World rather than be part of the Argentina squad at the World Cup 2014. Tevez is not expected to be named in the squad for the World Cup when manager Alejandro Sabella reveals it in a few days time. Tevez has not played for the national team for the last few years. It has been rumoured that he has had a rift with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, which is thought to be the main reason behind Sabella not picking him.

The Argentina manager sees Messi as a far more important figure in the team. Messi has won four out of the last five FIFA Ballon d’Or award’s and is widely regarded as the best player in the world. Tevez recently said that he had given up hope of being recalled to the national team. A fiercely patriotic person, the 31-year-old striker has sensationally claimed that he would rather visit the Disney World than be part of the World Cup. Such frustrating comments are set to be borne out of rumours that he will miss out on the World Cup squad despite protests from fans in Argentina for his call-up.

“I don’t think I will be with my national team at the World Cup. I’ve already bought tickets to go with my wife and my three children to Disney World. They deserve this trip and I have been very clear in my mind where my place in. Things are as they are and that’s that,” said the striker. Tevez’ last appearance for the national team came back in 2011 when he was part of the squad that played in the Copa America. Despite this, he still continues to retain a lot of popularity in his home country.
