Juventus confirms continuation with Carlos

Juventus have confirmed that they have no intention of parting company with striker Carlos Tevez at the end of the campaign.

The forward is being linked with a return to his homeland. He has already mentioned on several occasions that he would like to return to Argentine football when he is still at the top of the game. Tevez is clearly enjoying the best football of his career. The 31-year-old has scored goals and created two more in his last 10 matches for Juventus. This has helped the Italian club open a nine-point advantage over second placed to Roma, while also putting one foot in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The club’s general manager,Beppe Marotta, says that the club are still confident of keeping Tevez for a few more years. Boca Juniors are thought to be interested in making an offer in the summer, but Marotta says that they might even offer Tevez a new deal in order to convince him to stay at Turin. After struggling with their search for a goal scorer, Juventus have finally been rescued by Tevez. The club will now be hoping to achieve an impressive Champions League run backed by the good form of the former West Ham striker.

“We have an excellent relationship with [Carlos] Tevez. The player integrated himself from day one not only in the formation, but also in the Juventus mentality. He absorbed our history, our prestige and our trophies, which we wanted to renew with him at Juventus by winning the Scudetto immediately. We did it, and Tevez is now a fantastic professional and we have the same deal with him that we do with [goalkeeper Gianluigi] Buffon. When he wants to stop playing for Juventus we will do our best to respect his wishes,” said Marottaabout the future of Tevez.
