According to Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, Luis Suarez deserves to be considered for Ballon d’Or for his performance as a Liverpool player in the last season.

Suarez scored 31 goals for Liverpool due to which the team was able to secure second place in the competition. Suarez scored the most number of goals in the league. According to Rodgers, Suarez undoubtedly deserves a place among the top players. Regarding Suarez’s name not being on the list of players shortlisted for the Ballon d’Or Award, Rodger said that he fails to understand why Suarez’s name was not included on the list.

Rodgers doesn’t consider excluding Suarez from the list to be just. He thinks that if the list was made according to the merit of footballers then Suarez definitely deserves to be included in it. Suarez might have been excluded from the list for biting Chiellini in the 2014 world cup; he was suspended for four months after the incident. But Rodgers thinks that the players being considered for the award surely committed some minor offences in their career but the judgment should be made solely on the basis of football and nothing else.

Rodgers considers Suarez being awarded player of the year title for the last season in England to be a just treatment. He said that Suarez got the award for the quality of football he plays and further added that Suarez is definitely among the top five football players in the world. Liverpool will be pitted against Real Madrid again on Tuesday

Rodgers said that Real Madrid is currently the best football team in the world. He considers Ronaldo to be the best footballer in the world at present. Rodgers considers Ronaldo to be a very talented footballer. Rodgers said that it gives him great pleasure to witness someone as talented as Ronaldo. He said that Ronaldo’s accomplishments are due in large part to the immense effort he puts in training.
