TEVEZ ADMITS DREAM IS OVER

Carlos Tevez has publicly admitted that he does not expect to be picked for the Argentina squad for the 2014 World Cup. Argentina are one of the teams to have qualified for this competition from South America, while they are also one of the favourites due to the presence of players like Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi. They are regarded as the best attacking players in the world right now. The embarrassment of riches when it comes to attacking strength does not end with Aguero alone. Alejandro Sabella can even call upon the likes of Carlos Tevez, who has not played for Argentina in a major trophy since the 2011 Copa America.

In the last few years, Tevez has been in the wilderness after falling out with his club and international managers. However, he slowly appears to be getting back to his best after scoring regularly for his new club Juventus, where he has been playing since summer. He had moved into the Italian club in a £ 10 million deal. Juventus are top of the Italian Serie A and it is primarily due to the exploits of Tevez, but he says that he will not be watching the World Cup in which he does not take part because it would be painful.

“I have no problems with the group and I get on great with Messi. I don’t lose sleep over the World Cup. I don’t think I will watch it because it hurts me to see the national team, it’s bad for me. If Sabella hasn’t called me up, I’m not going to phone him to find out why he doesn’t pick me. Sabella must not be asked to call me up,” said the former Manchester city striker. Juventus currently lead the table by a massive eight points with Tevez having scored 11 goals in 19 matches.
