TEVEZ ARRIVES AT JUVE

Former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez arrived at Turin to complete his transfer to Juventus amidst a lot of fans who had gathered to see him. Even though the striker cost only £ 10 million, he is expected to be an important player for the club in the forthcoming season. Juventus have managed to win the league title twice in a row, but they have not made any significant progress in the Champions League. Manager Antonio Conte is believed to have made the European competition as his priority for the coming season.

After spending the last seven years in England, Tevez has moved to Juventus who have not had a great striker since the prime days of Alessandro del Piero. Tevez will in fact be wearing the same number 10 shirt as del Piero. As a result, there has been a lot of talk that Tevez may not be able to match up to the former Italian international, who has managed to create just about every record with Juventus after having played for the club for almost 20 years. Despite wearing del Piero’s shirt number, Tevez is not worried about the need to match his predecessor.

However, he is confident that he can repay the faith shown by Juventus to bring him to Italy.

“I have no problem with the sense of expectancy. I have demonstrated in the past the ability to withstand any pressure, even the weight of responsibility of wearing this shirt. In fact, I have to say that the responsibility excites me,” said Tevez to the official site of Juventus. Despite his numerous problems with Manchester City over the last few years, he still managed to get them to their first league title and FA Cup. He also scored several goals for the club last season as well.
