Tevez not leaving Boca

Boca Juniors coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto has stated that Carlos Tevez is not going to leave the club.


There was news that the former Juventus striker might be moving away from the club in the summer with several European clubs interested in signing the player.

The Boca Juniors coach admitted that the Argentina player was disappointed for failing to win the Copa Libertadores with Boca Juniors, but he is not going to leave the club. Indeed it has been the dream of Tevez to help Boca Juniors win their first South American club title for nine years. However, they were defeated in the sem-final by Independiente Del Valle.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto said that Tevez is disappointed with the way the team lost in the semi-final but believe that he will be staying next season. He said that the striker is focused on the team and that he is preparing himself for the beginning of the season. The coach said that it is not only Tevez that is disappointed with the result but the all team. They thought that they had a good chance of winning the trophy this season, but unfortunately, it did not happen.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto said that Carlos Tevez has asked for some holidays from the team and that it is likely that it will be given to him. However, he assured fans that they should not worry as Carlos Tevez will be staying with the team. The coach said that Tevez is just disappointed with the way Boca Juniors lost the game, but he will be fine. He just needs some time away from the team and relaxes with his family, and he will be back just as motivated as before. He said that fans should not listen to rumors as the player is not going anywhere.
