Reactions have continued to pour out over the transfer of Lionel Messi from Barcelona to French Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain this summer and this time it’s his former teammate at international level Carlos Tevez who has had his say on the topic. Messi sealed his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain under surprising circumstances after he was unable to renew his contract at the Camp Nou. After his exploits with Argentina at the Copa America this summer, the attacker was granted some days off and was asked to resume training last week only for him to be told that he would not be able to sign a new deal because of the La Liga rules on the wage structure.
City’s inability to sign Messi gave PSG the all-clear and they were the only side in pole position to make a move for the attacker and Tevez has given his former teammate the seal of approval after signing for his new club.
Tevez said that he was one of the many people who believed that the Barcelona Dn Messi partnership would continue for the next few years and that he is still surprised that he left the club but admitted that it is one of those things that happen in football. He, however, said that his former colleague deserved the move.
